Edit a Shift

Sometimes, you may need to edit a shift after it has been created. For example, you may need to change the shift details, assign the shift to a different employee, or update the shift rate. This guide will show you how to edit a shift in Workmax.

How to Edit a Shift

Only assigned and unassigned shifts can be edited. If the shift is already clocked in or out, you cannot edit it.

tip

If you need to edit a shift that has already been clocked in or out, you can delete the shift and create a new one with the correct details.

  1. Sign in to your "Workmax" account with a manager or admin account.
  2. Go to the "Rotas & shifts" section.
  3. Select a Rota that contains the shift you want to edit.
  4. Click on the shift you want to edit.
  5. Enter the shift details
    • Assigned to - Select the employee you want to assign the shift to. (Optional)
    • Start date
    • Start time
    • End date
    • End time
    • Job title
    • Earning type (Regular, Overtime, etc.)
    • Shift rate - Enter the hourly rate for the shift. (Optional)
    • Location
    • Yes/No - If employee is required to clock in/out within the location radius.
    • Location radius - Enter the location radius in meters.
    • Yes/No - If employee is required to clock out with attachment.
    • Notes (Optional)
  6. Click on the "Save" button.

Workmax will now update the shift with the new details, and you can view the updated shift in the shifts list. If you have any questions or need help, please contact Workmax Support.
